About the Role & Grad2Teach Programme
This Graduate Trainee Science Teacher role is part of the Grad2Teach salaried initial teacher training programme, offering a practical and financially supported route into teaching while working towards a PGCE with QTS.
You will:

Start as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, supporting pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4 in Science lessons

Progress through our two-phase training model, gradually taking on more classroom responsibility

Complete a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University

Earn a salary while training, avoiding student tuition fees

Receive continuous mentoring, coaching, and access to a blended training curriculum aligned to the Teaching Standards and Core Content Framework
Phase 1: Focus on classroom support, student engagement, and assisting with lesson planning
Phase 2: Teach independently up to 18 hours per week while completing PGCE assignments and reflections
This experience-led route ensures you gain the real-world teaching skills, knowledge, and confidence needed for a successful career.
Candidate Requirements
We welcome applications from individuals who:

Hold a UK bachelor’s degree, ideally in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or similar)

Hold (or are working towards) GCSEs in English and Maths (some flexibility may be available in Phase 1)
