Grad2Teach is offering an exciting Graduate Trainee Teacher – Primary Education opportunity within a welcoming and supportive primary school in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. This salaried role allows you to begin as a Phase One trainee, gaining hands-on classroom experience while studying towards your Level 4 qualification, with a clear and structured pathway to Phase Two, PGCE and QTS.

As a Grad2Teach trainee, you will:

Support teaching and learning across the primary age range (EYFS, KS1 or KS2, depending on school need)

Work closely with experienced teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons

Help create a positive, inclusive and safe classroom environment

Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development

Contribute to wider school life, enrichment activities and events
This role is ideal for someone who wants to earn while they train, gain real classroom experience from day one, and grow into a confident and effective Primary School teacher.
About You – Candidate Profile
You may be a recent graduate, teaching assistant, tutor, or aspiring educator who is passionate about working with children. We are looking for someone who:

Is a motivated aspiring Primary School teacher / graduate trainee

Holds (or is working towards) a degree in any subject

Has a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development

Is enthusiastic, reflective and keen to learn

Demonstrates strong communication skills and a caring, patient approach

Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents

Is committed to developing excellent teaching practice through mentoring and training
Training & Progression with Grad2Teach
This role follows Grad2Teach’s fully salaried, two-phase teacher training programme:
Phase One – Level 4 & Foundational Training

Complete a Level 4 NCFE customised qualification while working in school

Training aligned with the Core Content Framework (CCF) and Teachers’ Standards

Learn through guided practice, lesson observations, professional studies and in-school experience
Phase Two – PGCE & QTS (Coventry University)
Subject to successful progression, Phase Two includes:

Increased teaching responsibility (up to 18 hours per week)

Completion of a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University (NITE)

Ongoing mentoring, assessment and professional development towards meeting all Teachers’ Standards
This structured pathway ensures you develop the skills, confidence and qualifications needed to begin your career as a fully qualified Primary School teacher.
