Trainee Primary Teacher
Partnerships Co-ordinator
About the Role
Are you a graduate or aspiring teacher ready to begin a salaried teacher training programme in a supportive primary school in Slough, Berkshire?
Grad2Teach is offering an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Primary Teacher to join a welcoming and diverse primary academy in Slough. This is a structured, paid route into teaching, designed to help you gain classroom experience while working towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
About the Role
This Trainee Primary Teacher position is ideal for a graduate, career changer, or experienced support staff member looking for a graduate teaching role with clear progression.
As a trainee teacher in this Slough primary school, you will:
-
Teach across the primary age range (EYFS, KS1 or KS2 depending on experience)
-
Develop lesson planning, behaviour management, and pupil progress
-
Gradually increase your classroom responsibility
-
Gain practical, hands-on experience in a real school environment
-
Complete a Level 4 NCFE qualification as part of Phase One
You will be employed in school from day one, earning a salary while training. During Phase One, your training takes place outside of contact time, allowing you to build confidence without the pressure of a full timetable.
This is a long-term pathway into teaching, not just a short-term teaching assistant role. Successful trainees progress into Phase Two, working towards a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University.
