About the Role & Grad2Teach ProgrammeThis Graduate Trainee Design and Technology Teacher role is part of the Grad2Teach salaried initial teacher training programme—a financially supported, classroom-based route into teaching.
You will:-
Begin by teaching D&T lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

Progress through Grad2Teach’s structured two-phase training model

Work toward a PGCE with QTS, awarded by Coventry University

Receive a salary throughout your training—no tuition fees required

Benefit from expert mentoring, tailored coaching, and access to a curriculum aligned with the Teaching Standards and Core Content Framework

Support lesson planning, delivery, and classroom organisation

Assist in practical sessions, workshops, and project-based learning

Develop strategies for behaviour management and inclusive teaching

Independently teach up to 18 hours per week

Deliver engaging, hands-on D&T lessons

Complete PGCE assignments and formal assessments

Candidate RequirementsTo be eligible for this role, applicants must:

Hold a bachelor’s degree—ideally in Design and Technology, Engineering, Product Design, or a related field

Hold (or be working towards) GCSEs in English and Maths (flexibility may be available in Phase 1)
