About the Role
A supportive secondary school in the Ixworth/Ipswich area of Suffolk (IP31) is seeking a committed Phase One Trainee Teacher to join their team through a Cover Supervisor role. This is a perfect opportunity for an aspiring teacher or graduate trainee ready to begin a salaried teacher training programme with Grad2Teach.
In this role, you will lead classes across a range of subjects, delivering pre-planned lessons, supporting learners, and gaining the essential classroom confidence required for future independent teaching. While working full-time within the school, you will train with Grad2Teach, completing your NCFE Level 4 qualification during Phase One and building the foundations needed to progress into Phase Two (PGCE with QTS).
This role offers the ideal blend of classroom responsibility and structured, well-supported professional development. Your training sits outside of contact time to ensure maximum in-school impact, in line with Grad2Teach’s programme structure.

Training & Progression with Grad2Teach
As a Grad2Teach trainee, you will receive:
Phase One – Level 4 Qualification

Completion of an NCFE-accredited Level 4 customised qualification

Blended learning aligned with the Core Content Framework (CCF) and Teaching Standards

Regular observations, study groups, coaching opportunities, and reflective learning

A personalised development plan designed to prepare you for Phase Two
Phase Two – Initial Teacher Training (PGCE/QTS)
Once school-ready, you will progress into Phase Two where you will:

Begin independent teaching (up to 18 hours per week)

Complete a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University

Develop a full teaching timetable, supported by mentors, university tutors, and Grad2Teach coordinators

Work towards becoming a fully qualified teacher
