About the Role & Grad2Teach Programme
This Graduate Trainee Science Teacher role is part of the Grad2Teach salaried initial teacher training programme—a financially supported, classroom-based route into teaching.
You will:
- Begin by delivering Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Progress through Grad2Teach’s structured two-phase training model
- Work toward a PGCE with QTS, awarded by Coventry University
- Receive a salary throughout your training—no tuition fees required
- Benefit from expert mentoring, tailored coaching, and a curriculum aligned with the Teaching Standards and Core Content Framework
Training Structure:Phase 1:
- Support with lesson planning and delivery
- Assist in practical experiments, demonstrations, and student interventions
- Develop classroom and behaviour management strategies
Phase 2:
- Independently teach lessons (up to 18 hours per week)
- Continue to build subject expertise and pedagogical skills
- Complete PGCE assignments and formal assessments

Candidate Requirements
To be eligible for this role, applicants must:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree—ideally in a Science-related subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
- Be passionate about teaching and inspiring young minds through science
- Demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to professional growth
- Hold (or be working towards) GCSEs in English and Maths (flexibility may be available in Phase 1)
