About the Role

Are you a motivated graduate or career changer ready to begin your teaching journey? A welcoming and community-focused primary school in Watford, Hertfordshire is offering an exciting opportunity for a Phase One Trainee Teacher to join their team through the Grad2Teach salaried initial teacher training programme.

In this graduate teaching role, you will gain hands-on classroom experience while working as a Teaching Assistant (TA). You will support pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, develop core teaching skills, and gradually take on more responsibility as your confidence grows.

Through Grad2Teach, you will complete your Level 4 qualification during Phase One, followed by structured progression into Phase Two, where you will work towards your PGCE with QTS through Coventry University. This salaried teacher training route offers a clear pathway into becoming a fully qualified primary teacher.

  • A graduate trainee hoping to enter the teaching profession

  • A career changer seeking a meaningful, stable, and rewarding new path

  • A future teacher with experience working with children or within education

  • A trainee educator who thrives in supportive, collaborative environments

You should be organised, resilient, and passionate about helping young learners achieve their potential. Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn are key.

Through Grad2Teach, you will receive:

  • A Level 4 qualification during Phase One

  • Training mapped to the Core Content Framework (CCF)

  • Guided development against the Teachers' Standards

  • A seamless transition into Phase Two, where you’ll take on increased teaching responsibility

  • A PGCE with QTS delivered in partnership with Coventry University
