About the Role

Grad2Teach is offering an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Trainee Teacher – Girls’ PE based in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire. This is a Phase One salaried training position, where you will gain hands-on experience while working towards your Level 4 qualification, with a clear pathway to PGCE and QTS.
In this role, you will support teaching and learning across the PE department, with a focus on girls’ physical education. You will help deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to support Key Stage 5 provision where available. You’ll also contribute to extra-curricular sport, including clubs, teams and fixtures.
Working alongside experienced staff, you will support students in developing confidence, teamwork, resilience and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.

About You – Candidate Profile
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for sport and education.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be an aspiring PE teacher / graduate trainee
- Have a degree in Sport, PE or a related subject
- Have a strong interest in girls’ sport and physical development
- Be confident leading or supporting a range of sports and activities
- Be able to motivate and engage students of all abilities
- Have strong communication and organisational skills
- Be committed to promoting participation, inclusion and wellbeing
Training & Progression with Grad2Teach
This role follows Grad2Teach’s fully salaried, two-phase teacher training model:
Phase One – Level 4 & Foundational Training
- Work in school supporting PE teaching and learning
- Complete a Level 4 NCFE customised qualification
- Training aligned to the Core Content Framework (CCF) and Teachers’ Standards
- Develop through practical experience, mentoring, observations and professional study
Phase Two – PGCE & QTS (Coventry University)
Subject to successful progression, you will move on to:
- Increased teaching responsibility (up to 18 hours per week)
- Completion of a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University (NITE)
- Ongoing mentoring and assessment to meet all Teachers’ Standards
This structured pathway provides a clear route into teaching, equipping you with the skills, confidence and qualifications to become a fully qualified PE Teacher.
