Grad2Teach is offering an exciting Graduate Trainee Teacher – Primary Education opportunity at a supportive primary school in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. This salaried Phase One position is ideal for graduates and aspiring teachers who want to gain valuable classroom experience while working towards their Level 4 qualification, with a clear progression route into Phase Two, PGCE and QTS.
You will become part of a welcoming school community where experienced teachers and mentors will support you as you develop your understanding of effective teaching, learning and behaviour management.
As a Grad2Teach trainee, you will:
- Support teaching and learning across the primary phase
- Work with individual pupils, small groups and whole classes
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation, resources and classroom activities
- Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
- Help create an engaging, inclusive and positive learning environment
- Develop your understanding of assessment and pupil progress
- Observe experienced teachers and learn effective classroom practice
- Gain increasing responsibility as your confidence and teaching skills develop
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and its community

About You – Candidate Profile

- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents
- Be organised, reliable and willing to learn
- Be reflective and committed to developing your professional practice
- Want to develop through high-quality mentoring, coaching and training
Previous experience working with children, whether in a school, nursery, tutoring, coaching or youth setting, would be advantageous.
Training & Progression with Grad2Teach
This role follows Grad2Teach's fully salaried, two-phase teacher training model.
Phase One – Level 4 & Foundational Training
- Complete your Level 4 NCFE customised qualification while working in school
- Training aligned to the Core Content Framework (CCF) and Teachers' Standards
- Learn through guided practice, lesson observations, mentoring and professional learning sessions
- Develop your classroom management and teaching skills through practical experience
- Receive ongoing support from experienced teachers and Grad2Teach mentors
- Take on increasing responsibility as your confidence and competence develop
Phase Two – PGCE & QTS (Coventry University)
Subject to successful progression, Phase Two includes:
- Teaching responsibility of up to 18 hours per week
- Completion of a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University (NITE)
- Ongoing mentoring, assessment and professional development
- Development towards meeting all Teachers' Standards
This structured pathway provides a clear route from Phase One trainee to fully qualified Primary teacher.
