About the Role

Are you ready to train, earn, and make a real difference? Join our salaried teacher training programme with Grad2Teach and work at a supportive secondary special school in Greater London. In this graduate teaching role, you will:

  • Serve as a Phase One Trainee Teacher, supporting students aged 11–19 with severe learning disabilities (SLD), profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), and autistic spectrum disorders (ASD)

  • Be based at a specialist school in Uxbridge 

  • Gain hands-on classroom experience working alongside experience teachers and teaching assistants in small, high-support classes (average class size ~8)

  • Learn in well-resourced environments, including sensory rooms, hydrotherapy pool, and life-skills area. 

  • Receive structured, salaried training through Grad2Teach’s Level 4 qualification (Phase One) pathway.

  • Progress to Phase Two, where you will undertake independent teaching leading to a PGCE with Coventry University, aligned with the Core Content Framework (CCF) and the national Teaching Standards.

  • May have some prior experience (e.g. volunteering, working with children, support roles), though this is not required — enthusiasm and dedication matter most.

    Training & Progression

  • You will start with Grad2Teach’s Phase One salaried route, working towards a Level 4 qualification.
  • Your training is informed by the Core Content Framework (CCF) and aligned with national Teaching Standards.
  • Upon successful completion of Phase One, you will progress to Phase Two, where you will teach independently and work toward a PGCE awarded by Coventry University.
  • Throughout, you will benefit from structured mentorship, observations, and reflective practice, to build your confidence and professional skills.
