About Profile

About Damian

Damian is a career-changer with a strong academic background in Law and professional experience as an actor. He decided to retrain after discovering a passion for education through cover supervising. His approach to teaching is shaped by the preparation, adaptability and performance skills developed on stage.

He uses Drama to make literature and complex texts more accessible, especially for students disengaged with traditional methods. He understands how to build confidence and resilience through performance. His working-class background gives him a strong sense of mission: to widen access to the arts and help students engage meaningfully with culture.

He presents confidently and speaks knowledgeably about the Drama curriculum, showing insight into how students learn through evaluation, rehearsal and direction. He is well-prepared and reflective, with clear areas for development around formal classroom experience and behaviour management, which he addresses through an emphasis on clarity, communication and consistency.

Damian is ready to train and shows strong potential to contribute to a creative and aspirational department.

Strengths:
  • First-hand understanding of stagecraft and performance
  • Confident, articulate and well-prepared
  • Brings lived experience to enrich curriculum delivery
  • Reflective and open to feedback
  • Passionate about social mobility and student voice
