About Profile
Their goal is to engage students with dynamic, interactive teaching that makes complex biological concepts accessible and exciting.
Biology, as a gateway to numerous scientific careers—from medicine to environmental science—equips students with essential skills for navigating today’s world. The applicant is particularly drawn to the UK secondary Biology curriculum, with its focus on cellular biology, human physiology, ecology, and genetics. These topics offer opportunities to explore real-world challenges such as health, conservation, and ethics, which they are eager to discuss in the classroom.
With hands-on experience in both India and the UK, they have developed a practical understanding of classroom strategies and curriculum delivery. As a Learning Support Assistant at Stanmore College, they support 16–18-year-olds across various subjects, including Biology. Their previous teaching role in India involved teaching Biology to Year 10 students and supporting younger pupils in English, Science, and Maths. These experiences have strengthened their ability to adapt lessons and provide differentiated support across a wide age range.
Academically, they hold a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of North Bengal, where they developed a strong foundation in subjects such as human physiology, genetics, ecology, and practical laboratory work. Their studies sharpened their analytical and critical thinking skills—capabilities they aim to pass on to their students. As an aspiring STEM Ambassador, they are committed to promoting scientific literacy and inspiring students to explore the diverse opportunities within Biology and the broader STEM field.
