About the Role
As a trainee teacher, you will:

Support lessons in GCSE and A-Level Economics and Business

Assist with lesson planning, resource preparation, and assessment

Deliver small group interventions and targeted support

Develop subject knowledge and classroom confidence

Work closely with experienced mentors as part of a salaried teacher training pathway
This route is ideal for those who are committed, career-focused, and motivated to progress into independent teaching through Phase Two and a PGCE route.
About You / Candidate Profile
We are seeking an ambitious aspiring teacher, trainee educator, or future Economics and Business teacher with a strong academic background and a genuine interest in education.
You will:

Hold (or be working toward) a degree in Economics, Business, Finance, or a related subject
- Have already taught A level Economics and GSCE Business Studies

Be passionate about developing students’ understanding of enterprise, finance, and economic thinking

Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and resilience

Be eager to learn and develop within a structured teacher training programme
-
Be committed to progressing through a salaried route into qualified teacher status
Previous experience in tutoring, mentoring, business environments, or youth work is beneficial but not essential.
Training & Progression

Completion of Phase One, achieving a Level 4 qualification with Grad2Teach

Training aligned with the Core Content Framework (CCF) and national Teaching Standards

Structured mentoring, lesson observations, and professional development

Progression into Phase Two, with increased responsibility and independent teaching

Opportunity to complete a PGCE with Coventry University, leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
