About the Role

In this graduate teaching role, you will support the delivery of Science across the secondary curriculum, working alongside experienced teachers in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. You will gain hands-on classroom experience while earning a salary and completing Grad2Teach’s Level 4 qualification, following a structured and supportive route into teaching.

As a trainee teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Assisting with practical experiments, demonstrations, and classroom learning

  • Working with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce understanding

  • Developing strong subject knowledge across the Sciences

  • Building confidence and professional practice as part of a salaried teacher training route

This role offers an excellent foundation for those aspiring to progress into independent teaching and a PGCE pathway.

This role is ideal for an aspiring teacher, trainee educator, or future Science teacher who is passionate about education and inspiring young people through Science.

You will:

  • Hold (or be working toward) a degree in Science or a related subject

  • Be enthusiastic about Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics

  • Be reliable, reflective, and eager to learn within a school-based setting

  • Enjoy working with secondary-aged students

  • Be committed to developing professionally through a structured teacher training programme

Previous experience in schools, tutoring, or youth work is beneficial but not essential.

Training & Progression

  • You will complete Phase One, achieving a Level 4 qualification with Grad2Teach

  • Training aligns with the Core Content Framework (CCF) and national Teaching Standards

  • You will receive structured mentoring, observations, and ongoing professional development

  • Successful completion of Phase One enables progression to Phase Two, with increased responsibility and independent teaching

  • Phase Two includes a PGCE with Coventry University, leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

This programme offers a clear, supported route from trainee teacher to fully qualified Science teacher.
