About the Role
As a trainee teacher, you will:

Support Chemistry lessons, including practical laboratory sessions

Assist with lesson preparation, marking, and assessment

Work with small groups to reinforce scientific understanding

Develop strong subject knowledge in Chemistry and applied sciences

Build classroom confidence within a structured salaried teacher training pathway
This role offers a strong foundation for progression into Phase Two and a PGCE route, leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

You will:

Hold (or be working toward) a degree in Chemistry or a closely related subject

Have strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for practical science

Be reliable, reflective, and motivated to develop professionally

Enjoy working with secondary-aged students in a high-achieving setting

Be committed to progressing through a structured teacher training programme
Previous experience in tutoring, laboratory work, or youth mentoring is beneficial but not essential.
Training & Progression

Completion of Phase One, leading to a Level 4 qualification with Grad2Teach

Training aligned with the Core Content Framework (CCF) and national Teaching Standards

Structured mentoring, observations, and professional development

Progression to Phase Two, where you begin independent teaching

Opportunity to complete a PGCE with Coventry University, leading to QTS
