About the Role
In this graduate teaching role, you will work alongside experienced History teachers, supporting lessons across the humanities curriculum and gaining hands-on classroom experience. You will be employed in school while completing Grad2Teach’s Level 4 qualification, providing a structured and supportive route into the teaching profession.
As a trainee teacher, your responsibilities will include:

Supporting History teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4

Assisting with lesson delivery, classroom management, and student engagement

Developing subject knowledge in History and related humanities subjects

Working closely with mentors as part of a salaried teacher training route

Preparing for progression into Phase Two and a PGCE pathway

About You / Candidate Profile
We are seeking a committed aspiring teacher, trainee educator, or future History teacher who is passionate about education and keen to inspire young people.
You will:

Hold (or be working towards) a degree in History or a closely related subject

Be enthusiastic about becoming a qualified History teacher

Be reliable, reflective, and eager to develop professionally

Enjoy working with secondary-aged students

Be motivated to succeed on a structured teacher training programme
Previous experience in schools, tutoring, or youth work is beneficial but not essential. A strong commitment to teaching and learning is key.
Training & Progression

You will complete Phase One, working towards a Level 4 qualification with Grad2Teach

Training is aligned with the Core Content Framework (CCF) and national Teaching Standards

You will receive ongoing mentoring, observations, and professional development

Successful completion of Phase One leads to Phase Two, where you move into independent teaching

Phase Two includes a PGCE route with Coventry University, supporting you to achieve Qualified Teacher Status
