About the Role & Training Programme
As a Trainee Early Years Practitioner, you will be actively involved in classroom practice while developing the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to become a qualified teacher. This structured, two-phase training programme includes:

A fully funded PGCE with QTS awarded by Coventry University

Hands-on experience supporting children’s learning and development
-
Blended learning combining school-based experience with academic study
-
Mentoring and guidance from experienced colleagues
-
A pathway to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and career development in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Your responsibilities will include:
-
Supporting planning, delivery, and assessment of the Early Years curriculum
-
Working one-to-one and in small groups with children, including those with additional needs
-
Using ICT and other resources to enhance learning
-
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional development
-
Supporting children’s personal care where necessary
-
Covering classes during short-term teacher absences (with supervision and guidance)
-
Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Who We're Looking For
We’re looking for individuals who:

Hold a UK undergraduate degree (in any subject, ideally Early Years, Education, Psychology, or similar)
-
Have experience working or volunteering in Early Years or primary settings
-
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Are resilient, reflective, and passionate about working with young children
-
Are committed to a salaried route into teacher training and to achieving QTS

Are open to feedback and eager to learn in a dynamic school environment
