Whether you’re a graduate seeking a salaried route into teaching or a qualified teacher looking for a part-time post, this is your opportunity to join a forward-thinking, inclusive school in Essex with a strong commitment to creativity, collaboration and high-impact learning.

About the School

This is a warm, welcoming and highly supportive secondary school in Essex, known for its thriving Art and Design Technology department and commitment to inspiring students through creativity and innovation. The school is expanding due to its continued success and growing popularity, and is home to cutting-edge facilities, a team-oriented culture, and a bespoke CPD offer that supports progression at every level.

As part of a wider academy trust, the school benefits from national recognition for its impact on disadvantaged children and a strong ethos of teamwork and inclusion. Staff enjoy a close-knit community atmosphere, regular professional development opportunities, and generous staff benefits, including access to a gym, wellbeing services, and retail discounts.

About the Role

This part-time position (3 days per week) is ideal for:

  • Trainee Teachers: Join the Grad2Teach Initial Teacher Training programme and earn while you train towards your PGCE with QTS.

  • Qualified Teachers: Teach KS3–KS5 Art (with some DT) in a supportive, high-performing department with opportunities for career development.

If you're applying via Grad2Teach, you’ll benefit from a two-phase training structure:

  • Phase 1: Classroom-based experience with focused training outside of contact hours

  • Phase 2: Independent teaching (up to 18 hours per week) while completing your PGCE through Coventry University

All training is aligned with the Teaching Standards and Core Content Framework, with expert in-school mentoring provided throughout.

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for applicants who:

  • Hold a degree (in Art, Fine Art, or a related subject)

  • Are either qualified to teach or seeking a salaried graduate teacher route

  • Are creative, resilient, and enthusiastic about working with young people

  • Hold GCSEs in English and Maths (flexibility available during Phase 1 if training)

  • Can bring some DT knowledge or a willingness to support the wider creative faculty

Whether you’re starting out in education or looking to scale back from full-time teaching, this is a rare opportunity to grow in a nurturing, purpose-driven environment.
