About the Role

Are you ready to train, earn, and make a real difference? Join our salaried teacher training programme with Grad2Teach and work at a supportive secondary special school in Greater London. In this graduate teaching role, you will:

  • Serve as a Phase One Trainee Teacher, supporting students aged 11–19 with severe learning disabilities (SLD), profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), and autistic spectrum disorders (ASD)

  • Be based at a specialist school in Uxbridge

  • Gain hands-on classroom experience working alongside experience teachers and teaching assistants in small, high-support classes (average class size ~8)

  • Learn in well-resourced environments, including sensory rooms, hydrotherapy pool, and life-skills area.

  • Receive structured, salaried training through Grad2Teach’s Level 4 qualification (Phase One) pathway.

  • Progress to Phase Two, where you will undertake independent teaching leading to a PGCE with Coventry University, aligned with the Core Content Framework (CCF) and the national Teaching Standards.

    About You / Candidate Profile

We are looking for a passionate, reliable, and caring graduate trainee who aspires to be a future teacher and has a heart for special education. Our ideal trainee educator:

  • Has a strong commitment to supporting pupils with special educational needs, including ASD, PMLD, and SLD.
  • Believes in providing individualised, inclusive learning.
  • Is ready to learn and grow through mentorship, training, and reflection.
  • Is motivated, compassionate, and resilient.
  • May have some prior experience (e.g. volunteering, working with children, support roles), though this is not required — enthusiasm and dedication matter most.

    Training & Progression

  • You will start with Grad2Teach’s Phase One salaried route, working towards a Level 4 qualification.
  • Your training is informed by the Core Content Framework (CCF) and aligned with national Teaching Standards.
  • Upon successful completion of Phase One, you will progress to Phase Two, where you will teach independently and work toward a PGCE awarded by Coventry University.
  • Throughout, you will benefit from structured mentorship, observations, and reflective practice, to build your confidence and professional skills.
