Meet Our Trainees

Yahya is a Geography graduate with a First-Class degree in Human Geography and experience mentoring university students, leading study sessions and supporting academic development. His professional research experience has also required him to analyse information and communicate complex findings clearly to different audiences. During assessment, Yahya planned a Year 8 Geography lesson on coastal management with clear learning objectives, a starter, teacher explanation, pupil activity and assessment. He demonstrated secure subject knowledge and considered how the learning would progress into a subsequent lesson. Yahya’s strengths are communication, explaining complex ideas and adapting to his audience. His main development area is behaviour management, as his teaching experience to date has primarily involved tutoring more mature students. He understands the importance of consistency, clear expectations and following a school’s behaviour policy. With classroom experience and mentoring, he has the potential to transfer his communication and subject knowledge into secondary Geography teaching.

Matylda brings around nine years of teaching experience across English, Spanish and French, working with learners from age five through to adults. She has taught across different proficiency levels and international settings, with experience of lesson planning, assessment, progress monitoring and examination preparation. Her academic background includes a 2:1 in French, Spanish and European Studies, a Distinction at MSc level and a 3.94 GPA in her MA.

Samuel brings over 16 years of teaching experience, with a particular focus on Mathematics. He has a Diploma in Psychology and Foundations of Education (Science and Mathematics), a degree in Educational Psychology with a Mathematics concentration, and an MSc in Human Resource Management from the University of Bradford. Since coming to the UK, Samuel has actively sought experience within the education system. He has volunteered as a Mathematics teacher in Bradford and worked through education agencies as both a supply teacher and Teaching Assistant. This has developed his understanding of UK safeguarding expectations, behaviour management and supporting pupils within different classroom settings.

Khatiba is an aspiring secondary Science teacher with a strong academic background in biology and zoology, supported by several years of classroom experience in both Pakistan and the UK. She holds an M.Phil. in Zoology, an MSc in Zoology, and a Bachelor of Education, providing a secure foundation for teaching Biology and wider Science. Khatiba has taught Biology and Zoology at both secondary school and college level, planning and delivering lessons that developed students' understanding of complex scientific concepts. She has experience teaching topics including genetics, ecology, anatomy, and evolution, while using multimedia resources and practical explanations to increase student engagement and understanding.

Adam is an aspiring secondary Business Studies teacher with prior experience working at unqualified teacher level across a number of school settings. He has delivered lessons at both GCSE and A-Level and demonstrates a clear understanding of classroom expectations, behaviour management, and lesson structure. He presents as a committed and professional individual with a strong work ethic. Adam spoke confidently about his approach to teaching, outlining clear routines around behaviour management, including structured lesson entry, expectations, and consistent classroom presence.

Dalia wants to teach French to help students communicate confidently and develop a wider understanding of different cultures and perspectives.

Friyan is an aspiring secondary Music teacher with a strong academic and practical background in music performance, conducting, and pedagogy. She holds an MMus in Music from Royal Holloway, University of London, and a BA in Music, Psychology, and English. Her experience combines individual instrumental teaching, classroom music delivery, and active professional performance work.

Phil is a trainee primary teacher with recent, sustained experience in a UK primary school setting. He currently works as a Teaching Assistant at Didsbury Road Primary School, supporting learning across three Year 6 and two Year 5 classes. His role includes leading small-group Maths and Literacy sessions, delivering one-to-one reading support, and providing classroom cover when required.
