About Samuel
Samuel brings over 16 years of teaching experience, with a particular focus on Mathematics. He has a Diploma in Psychology and Foundations of Education (Science and Mathematics), a degree in Educational Psychology with a Mathematics concentration, and an MSc in Human Resource Management from the University of Bradford.
Since coming to the UK, Samuel has actively sought experience within the education system. He has volunteered as a Mathematics teacher in Bradford and worked through education agencies as both a supply teacher and Teaching Assistant. This has developed his understanding of UK safeguarding expectations, behaviour management and supporting pupils within different classroom settings.
Samuel’s main strengths are his substantial teaching experience, secure academic background in education and Mathematics, and sustained commitment to the profession. His experience of educational psychology could also support his understanding of how pupils learn, develop confidence and respond to different approaches.
His main development area is adapting his considerable overseas experience fully to the expectations, curriculum and pedagogy of UK schools. Teacher training would provide the structured environment to develop this while allowing him to draw upon his existing classroom experience.
Samuel presents as an experienced candidate with the potential to become an effective UK Mathematics teacher. His willingness to volunteer and undertake supply and TA work demonstrates that he is already taking practical steps to understand the system rather than relying solely on his previous experience.
