About Matylda
Matylda brings around nine years of teaching experience across English, Spanish and French, working with learners from age five through to adults. She has taught across different proficiency levels and international settings, with experience of lesson planning, assessment, progress monitoring and examination preparation. Her academic background includes a 2:1 in French, Spanish and European Studies, a Distinction at MSc level and a 3.94 GPA in her MA.
Matylda demonstrated good potential for secondary teaching during assessment. Her English micro-teach for Years 7–8 showed clear learning objectives, subject knowledge, lesson structure and consideration of progression into a follow-up lesson. She had also researched the curriculum and connected the learning to later GCSE analysis.
A particular strength is her awareness of individual pupil progress. Matylda described adapting to pupils working at different rates while keeping track of those requiring additional support. Her main development area is establishing firmer boundaries with older pupils and applying school behaviour policies consistently; she identified that previous teaching environments had not always required this. With structured mentoring and experience of UK school routines, Matylda has the potential to translate her existing teaching experience into effective secondary classroom practice.
