About You
We are looking for a passionate graduate trainee, aspiring English teacher, or future teacher who is committed to making a positive impact on young people's education.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A UK undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in English, English Literature, English Language, or a closely related subject.
- Previous classroom experience through teaching, tutoring, cover supervision, teaching assistance, or another educational setting.
- A genuine passion for English and helping young people develop confidence in literacy and communication.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and classroom management abilities.
- A proactive attitude, resilience, and willingness to learn.
- A commitment to becoming a qualified secondary English teacher.

Training & Progression
Grad2Teach's Phase One Teacher Training Programme combines practical classroom experience with structured professional development.
During Phase One, you will:
- Complete a recognised Level 4 qualification.
- Develop your teaching practice through the Core Content Framework (CCF).
- Build evidence towards meeting the Teachers' Standards.
- Receive regular mentoring, coaching, and developmental observations.
- Gain increasing responsibility for planning and delivering high-quality English lessons.
Following successful completion of Phase One, you will progress into Phase Two, where you will:
- Undertake greater independent teaching responsibilities.
- Continue developing your classroom practice and subject expertise.
- Work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Complete a PGCE with Coventry University.
