About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic graduate trainee, future English teacher, or experienced education professional who is passionate about education and committed to helping young people succeed.
The successful candidate will have:
- A UK undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in English, English Literature, English Language, or a related subject.
- Previous teaching or classroom experience (essential), including teaching, tutoring, cover supervision, lecturing, or other significant classroom leadership.
- A genuine ambition to become a qualified secondary English teacher.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong classroom management and organisational abilities.
- The ability to motivate and engage learners of all abilities.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
Whether you are currently working as an unqualified teacher, tutor, instructor, cover supervisor, lecturer, or an experienced teaching assistant with substantial teaching responsibilities, this graduate teaching role offers an outstanding route into the teaching profession.
Training & Progression
Grad2Teach's salaried teacher training programme combines practical classroom experience with structured professional learning and expert mentoring.
During Phase One, you will:
- Complete the Level 4 qualification.
- Develop your teaching practice through the Core Content Framework (CCF).
- Build evidence against the Teachers' Standards.
- Receive personalised mentoring, coaching, and developmental observations.
- Take increasing responsibility for planning and delivering engaging English lessons.
Following successful completion of Phase One, you will progress into Phase Two, where you will:
- Undertake greater independent teaching responsibilities.
- Continue developing your subject expertise and classroom practice.
- Work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Complete your PGCE with Coventry University through the Grad2Teach programme.
