About the Role & Grad2Teach Programme
This Graduate Trainee Science Teacher role is delivered through the Grad2Teach salaried initial teacher training programme, offering a practical, financially supported pathway to gain your PGCE and QTS.
You will:

Start as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, supporting Science lessons and pupil progress across Key Stages 3 and 4

Progress through a two-phase training model, with increasing teaching responsibilities

Complete a PGCE with QTS awarded by Coventry University

Earn a salary while training, with no tuition fees

Receive personalised mentorship, coaching, and access to a blended training curriculum based on the Teaching Standards and Core Content Framework
Phase 1: Focus on developing classroom management skills, supporting targeted interventions, and assisting with lesson planning
Phase 2: Deliver up to 18 hours of independent Science teaching per week while completing PGCE assignments
This route is ideal for graduates ready to embark on a practical and rewarding journey into the teaching profession.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for candidates who:

Hold a UK bachelor’s degree, ideally in a Science-related field (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related subject)

Are enthusiastic about education and committed to inspiring young people

Demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to develop professionally

Have (or are working towards) GCSEs in English and Maths (some flexibility available in Phase 1)
