Grad2Teach is offering an exciting Graduate Trainee Teacher – Politics & Economics opportunity at a high-performing and forward-thinking secondary school in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. This fully salaried role allows you to begin your teaching career as a Phase One trainee, gaining valuable classroom experience while completing your Level 4 qualification, with a clear progression route to Phase Two, PGCE and QTS.
The school has a strong academic culture and a commitment to developing confident, informed and critical thinkers. Politics and Economics are valued subjects within the curriculum, helping students engage with current affairs, global issues and economic understanding.
As a Grad2Teach trainee, you will:

Support teaching and learning across Politics and Economics at KS4 and KS5

Assist with lesson planning, delivery and assessment

Help students develop analytical, evaluative and debating skills

Contribute to enrichment activities such as discussion groups, speaker events or competitions
-
Learn through structured mentoring, observation and professional development
This role is ideal for a graduate who wants to earn while they train, contribute meaningfully from the outset, and develop into a confident and knowledgeable teacher of Politics and Economics.
About You – Candidate Profile
You may be a recent graduate, academic mentor or aspiring educator with a strong interest in Politics, Economics or social sciences. We are looking for someone who:

Is a motivated aspiring Politics & Economics teacher / graduate trainee

Holds a degree in Politics, Economics or a closely related subject

Has a strong interest in current affairs, political systems and economic theory

Is reflective, enthusiastic and eager to develop excellent teaching practice

Can build positive relationships and inspire curiosity and debate

Is committed to high standards, collaboration and whole-school values

Wants to grow through high-quality mentoring and structured training
Training & Progression with Grad2Teach
This role follows Grad2Teach’s fully salaried, two-phase teacher training model:
Phase One – Level 4 & Foundational Training

Complete a Level 4 NCFE customised qualification while working in school

Training aligned to the Core Content Framework (CCF) and Teachers’ Standards

Learn through guided practice, lesson observations, professional learning sessions and in-school experience
Phase Two – PGCE & QTS (Coventry University – NITE)
Subject to successful progression:

Take on independent teaching responsibility (up to 18 hours per week)

Complete a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University
-
Receive ongoing mentoring, assessment and development towards meeting all Teachers’ Standards
This structured pathway ensures you gain the confidence, skills and accreditation needed to begin your career as a fully qualified secondary Politics and Economics teacher.
