Grad2Teach is offering an exciting Graduate Trainee Teacher – Primary Education opportunity at a supportive primary school in Barnet, North London. This salaried position is designed for candidates who already have relevant school experience and are considered ready to teach, enabling them to fast-track directly into Phase Two of the Grad2Teach programme.
This accelerated route allows aspiring teachers to begin working towards their PGCE with QTS from the outset while benefiting from structured mentoring, professional development and practical classroom experience.

As a Grad2Teach trainee, you will:
- Take responsibility for teaching and learning within a primary classroom
- Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum
- Support pupils' academic progress and personal development
- Create an inclusive, positive and stimulating learning environment
- Work closely with experienced mentors and senior leaders
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities, events and parent engagement
This role is ideal for aspiring teachers who have already gained school-based experience and are ready to progress quickly towards qualified teacher status.
About You – Candidate Profile
You may be a graduate, teaching assistant, cover supervisor, tutor or unqualified teacher who has already demonstrated strong classroom skills. We are looking for someone who:
- Is an aspiring Primary teacher ready to begin Phase Two training
- Holds a degree or is on track to complete one before starting
- Has relevant experience working within a primary school setting
- Demonstrates confidence in leading learning and managing a classroom
- Is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential
- Has excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
- Is reflective, resilient and committed to ongoing professional development
- Is ready to work towards achieving all Teachers' Standards
Training & Progression with Grad2Teach
Fast-Track Phase Two – PGCE & QTS (Coventry University)
Successful candidates will enter directly into Phase Two of the Grad2Teach programme, subject to assessment of their prior experience and readiness to teach.
The programme includes:
- Teaching responsibility of up to 18 hours per week
- Completion of a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University (NITE)
- Individualised mentoring and instructional coaching
- Formal lesson observations and developmental feedback
- Training aligned to the Teachers' Standards and Initial Teacher Training framework
- Ongoing professional studies and reflective practice
This accelerated pathway is designed for candidates who are ready to move beyond introductory training and begin the final stage of their journey towards becoming fully qualified teachers.
