About the Role

In this graduate teaching role, you will support the delivery of Mathematics across the secondary curriculum, working alongside experienced Maths teachers to help pupils develop confidence, fluency, and problem-solving skills. You will gain substantial classroom experience while earning a salary and completing Grad2Teach’s Level 4 qualification, offering a structured and supportive route into teaching.

As a trainee teacher, you will:

  • Support Mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Assist with lesson delivery, interventions, and classroom management

  • Develop strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and numeracy

  • Work closely with mentors as part of a salaried teacher training route

  • Build the skills and confidence needed to progress into Phase Two and a PGCE pathway

This role is ideal for aspiring Maths teachers seeking a practical, employment-based route into the profession.

We are looking for a motivated aspiring teacher, trainee educator, or future Mathematics teacher with a passion for numeracy and education.

You will:

  • Hold (or be working toward) a degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject

  • Be enthusiastic about inspiring young people to succeed in Maths

  • Be reliable, reflective, and eager to learn on the job

  • Enjoy working with secondary-aged students

  • Be committed to developing your skills through a structured teacher training programme

Previous experience in tutoring, schools, or youth work is beneficial but not essential.

 

Training & Progression

  • You will complete Phase One, working toward a Level 4 qualification with Grad2Teach

  • Training is aligned with the Core Content Framework (CCF) and national Teaching Standards

  • You will receive structured mentoring, observations, and professional development

  • Successful completion of Phase One leads to Phase Two, where you progress into independent teaching

  • Phase Two includes a PGCE with Coventry University, enabling you to qualify as a teacher
