About the Role & Grad2Teach Programme

This Graduate Trainee History Teacher role is delivered through the Grad2Teach salaried initial teacher training programme, combining paid school-based experience with academic study, leading to QTS and a PGCE.

With Grad2Teach, you will:

  • Start in a Graduate Teaching Assistant role within the History and Humanities department

  • Progress through a two-phase training model, designed to gradually build your teaching practice

  • Complete a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University

  • Earn a salary while training, avoiding tuition fee debt

  • Receive expert mentoring, reflective coaching, and access to a blended training programme aligned with the Teaching Standards and Core Content Framework

Phase 1: Observe, support, and contribute to lesson planning and delivery
Phase 2: Independently teach up to 18 hours per week while completing PGCE coursework

This is a flexible, supportive, and practical pathway into secondary education, ideal for History graduates who want to make a meaningful impact.


Candidate Requirements
