Grad2Teach is offering an exciting Graduate Trainee Teacher – Business Studies opportunity at a highly supportive secondary school in Hampshire. This salaried Phase One position begins as a Cover Supervisor, providing an excellent foundation for aspiring teachers who want to gain valuable classroom experience while working towards becoming a qualified Business Studies teacher.
The school has a strong reputation for supporting trainee teachers and offers a welcoming environment where you will be mentored by experienced staff and given opportunities to gradually develop your teaching skills. As a Grad2Teach trainee, you will:
- Work as a Cover Supervisor, delivering pre-planned lessons across the school
- Support teaching and learning within the Business Studies department
- Develop classroom management and behaviour management skills
- Build confidence leading learning and managing groups of students
- Support students' academic progress and engagement
- Work closely with experienced teachers and mentors
- Participate in departmental activities, interventions and enrichment opportunities
- Gain increasing teaching responsibility as you progress through the programme

About You – Candidate Profile

You will:
- Be an aspiring Business Studies teacher or graduate trainee
- Hold a degree in Business, Management, Economics, Finance, Marketing or a related subject, or be working towards one
- Have strong communication and presentation skills
- Be confident working with young people and leading groups
- Demonstrate professionalism, resilience and a willingness to learn
- Have a genuine passion for education and student success
- Be organised, adaptable and reflective
- Be committed to developing into an outstanding classroom practitioner
Previous experience working with young people, tutoring, coaching or in educational settings would be advantageous but is not essential.
Training & Progression with Grad2Teach
This role follows Grad2Teach's fully salaried, two-phase teacher training model.
Phase One – Cover Supervisor & Foundational Training
- Work as a Cover Supervisor while completing your Level 4 NCFE customised qualification
- Training aligned to the Core Content Framework (CCF) and Teachers' Standards
- Learn through lesson observations, guided practice, mentoring and professional studies
- Develop classroom confidence, behaviour management and teaching skills
- Receive structured support from experienced colleagues and mentors
Phase Two – PGCE & QTS (Coventry University)
Subject to successful progression, Phase Two includes:
- Teaching responsibility of up to 18 hours per week
- Completion of a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University (NITE)
- Ongoing mentoring, assessment and instructional coaching
- Development towards meeting all Teachers' Standards
This structured programme provides a clear route from Cover Supervisor to fully qualified Business Studies teacher.
