About Profile

Spencer brings a strong academic foundation and over three years of experience teaching in secondary settings, both as a class teacher and teaching assistant. He holds a BA in Political Science and an MPhil in African Studies from the University of Cambridge, equipping him with a deep understanding of governance, democracy, and historical context.
He is passionate about helping students become informed, analytical thinkers. His teaching experience in Ghana covered History, Government & Politics, and other Humanities subjects, and he is keen to expand his repertoire in the UK system. He demonstrates a student-centred approach and values discussion-based and inquiry-led teaching. He is also reflective about his own development and is aware he’ll need to strengthen his history content knowledge to match UK curriculum demands.
Spencer has shown resilience, maturity, and emotional intelligence—speaking openly about overcoming personal setbacks in his education. His ability to build positive relationships and manage behaviour constructively will support his classroom presence. His understanding of safeguarding is appropriate, and he recognises the importance of acting promptly and professionally in response to student concerns.
