About the Role

Working predominantly with a Year 6 class, you will play an active role in delivering engaging lessons, supporting pupils as they prepare for SATs and the transition to secondary education, and contributing to a positive learning environment. With structured mentoring and practical classroom experience, you'll build your teaching expertise while earning a salary throughout your training.

Through Grad2Teach's unique programme, you'll complete your Phase One Level 4 qualification, laying the foundations for progression towards Qualified Teacher Status and a PGCE.

We're looking for a motivated graduate trainee, aspiring teacher, or experienced education professional who is passionate about making a difference in primary education.

To be successful, you should have:

  • A UK undergraduate degree (or equivalent).
  • Previous teaching or classroom experience (essential), such as teaching, tutoring, cover supervision, Higher Level Teaching Assistant, instructor, or equivalent classroom leadership.
  • A genuine ambition to become a qualified primary teacher.
  • Confidence working with Key Stage 2 pupils, particularly Year 6.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
  • Resilience, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Whether you're currently working as a teaching assistant with significant teaching responsibility, an unqualified teacher, cover supervisor, tutor, or career changer with classroom experience, this graduate teaching role offers an excellent route into the profession.

Training & Progression

Grad2Teach provides a structured salaried teacher training programme, allowing you to gain practical classroom experience while working towards recognised teaching qualifications.

During Phase One, you will:

  • Complete the Level 4 qualification.
  • Develop your practice through the Core Content Framework (CCF).
  • Build evidence against the Teachers' Standards.
  • Receive expert mentoring, coaching, and regular developmental feedback.
  • Gain increasing responsibility within the classroom while earning a salary.

Successful completion of Phase One enables progression into Phase Two, where you will:

  • Undertake increased independent teaching responsibilities.
  • Continue your professional development.
  • Work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Complete your PGCE with Coventry University through the Grad2Teach programme.

This progressive pathway is designed to support future teachers from classroom experience to full qualification.
