This role is the ideal entry point (Phase One) for joining the Grad2Teach programme — a salaried route into teaching — allowing you to develop essential skills in the classroom before formally starting your teacher training.

Why West Norfolk?

From the picturesque coastline at Hunstanton to the royal parklands of Sandringham, West Norfolk is full of natural beauty and rich history. It offers a warm and welcoming community, affordable living, and a peaceful setting — the perfect place to grow both personally and professionally.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Deliver lessons to whole classes in the absence of the teacher.

  • Maintain positive behaviour and support student engagement.

  • Work across different subjects, giving you broad classroom exposure.

  • Start to build the teaching skills and confidence needed for formal training.

This role is ideal for graduates who want to explore a career in teaching and prepare for a smooth transition into Phase Two of the Grad2Teach programme, where you’ll begin your salaried training towards QTS and a PGCE.

What is Phase One with Grad2Teach?

Phase One is a supported introduction to teaching for those not quite ready to begin their formal teacher training. You’ll:

  • Gain paid classroom experience in a real school setting.

  • Receive mentorship and guidance to prepare for Phase Two.

  • Develop the confidence, knowledge and practical skills that will set you up for success as a trainee teacher.

  • Be supported every step of the way as you work towards entering formal teacher training.

Requirements:

To be eligible for this opportunity, you should have:

  • A UK undergraduate degree (in any subject).

  • A minimum of GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics.

  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in teaching.

  • The confidence to lead a classroom and build rapport with students.

  • A willingness to learn and grow in a supportive school environment.

What’s in It for You?

  • Paid experience in the classroom while developing your skills.

  • A direct pathway into salaried teacher training with Grad2Teach.

  • Mentoring and support from experienced educators.

  • The opportunity to live and work in the beautiful region of West Norfolk.
