About the Role

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Leicester is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team while starting a structured training pathway towards QTS and a PGCE through Grad2Teach.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone with classroom experience who is ready to take the next step towards becoming a fully qualified primary teacher. You will support teaching and learning across the school, lead small group activities, and deliver planned lessons, all while gaining the skills and knowledge needed for a successful teaching career.

Leicester is a vibrant and diverse city with excellent transport links, a rich cultural heritage, and a welcoming community—an ideal location to begin your teacher training journey.

The Role:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher

  • Support teaching and learning across Early Years, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2

  • Work with small groups and individual pupils to raise attainment

  • Assist with planning, preparation, and assessment

  • Begin your journey towards QTS and PGCE through Grad2Teach’s structured, school-based programme

Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree (essential)

  • GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above in English, Science and Mathematics

  • Experience working in a primary school setting (desirable)

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Commitment to completing the Grad2Teach programme leading to QTS and PGCE

What’s Offered:

  • A clear, structured route to gaining QTS and PGCE with Grad2Teach

  • Daily classroom experience in a supportive and nurturing school

  • Mentoring from experienced teachers to develop your practice
