About the Role

Grad2Teach is offering an exciting Primary Graduate Trainee Teacher opportunity at a partner school in Enfield, North London. This salaried Phase One position allows you to gain valuable classroom experience as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) while completing your initial teacher training.
Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff, you will develop your understanding of the primary classroom, build confidence working with pupils and begin developing the practical skills required to become an effective teacher.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils across the primary age range with their learning and development
- Working alongside class teachers to support lessons and classroom activities
- Providing targeted support to individual pupils and small groups
- Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
- Supporting classroom routines and effective behaviour management
- Assisting with learning resources and classroom preparation
- Observing experienced teachers and developing your understanding of effective teaching practice
- Gradually taking on increased responsibility as your confidence and skills develop
- Contributing to the wider life of the school

Training & Progression with Grad2Teach
Phase One – Learning Support Assistant & Level 4 Training
During Phase One, you will work in school as a Learning Support Assistant, gaining valuable hands-on experience while completing a Level 4 NCFE customised qualification.
Your training will include:
- Training aligned with the Core Content Framework (CCF) and Teachers’ Standards
- Guided classroom practice and observations of experienced teachers
- Regular mentoring and professional learning
- Developing knowledge of behaviour management and classroom practice
- Understanding how children learn and develop
- Supporting effective teaching and learning
- Building confidence and gradually increasing your classroom responsibilities
Successful completion of Phase One provides a clear progression route into Phase Two, where you can work towards your PGCE with QTS.
Phase Two – PGCE & QTS
Subject to successful progression, Phase Two provides the opportunity to:
- Take on teaching responsibility of up to 18 hours per week
- Complete a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University (NITE)
- Continue receiving school-based mentoring and support
- Develop your teaching practice through structured training and assessment
- Work towards meeting all Teachers’ Standards
- Progress towards becoming a fully qualified Primary Teacher
