About the Role

Are you passionate about languages and inspiring young learners? Do you have a degree in Modern Foreign Languages, French, Spanish or a related subject? Are you looking for a salaried route into primary teaching?

Grad2Teach is recruiting an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Primary MFL Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Slough, Berkshire.

This exciting opportunity is ideal for graduates, career changers or aspiring teachers who want to develop their classroom skills while introducing primary-aged pupils to the joy of learning new languages.

Working alongside experienced teachers, you will gain valuable experience delivering engaging language activities, supporting pupils' communication skills and helping children develop an early appreciation of different languages and cultures.

Through Grad2Teach's structured, salaried teacher training programme, you will gain practical classroom experience while working towards an NCFE Level 4 qualification, with the opportunity to progress into Phase Two and a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Your Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of engaging Modern Foreign Languages lessons across the primary age range, particularly Key Stage 2.

  • Help pupils develop their confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing in another language.

  • Plan and deliver creative language activities under the guidance of experienced teaching staff.

  • Use songs, games, storytelling and interactive resources to make language learning enjoyable and accessible.

  • Support classroom teaching and learning across the wider primary curriculum where required.

  • Assist with lesson preparation, classroom management and pupil assessment.

  • Promote cultural awareness, curiosity and enthusiasm for languages.

  • Develop your teaching practice through observations, mentoring and structured professional training.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and committed individual who is excited about becoming a qualified primary school teacher.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Modern Foreign Languages, French, Spanish or a related discipline, or relevant language expertise alongside an appropriate degree.

  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage and inspire young children.

  • A genuine enthusiasm for primary education and language learning.

  • Creativity and the ability to make lessons interactive, inclusive and enjoyable.

  • A positive, professional attitude and willingness to learn from experienced teachers.

  • Strong organisational skills, reliability and adaptability.

  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and supporting every pupil's development.

Previous experience working with children, tutoring, teaching languages or supporting learning in a school environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

We welcome applications from recent graduates, language specialists, teaching assistants and career changers looking to begin a rewarding career in primary education.
