Grad2Teach is offering an exciting Graduate Trainee Teacher – Girls’ Physical Education (PE) opportunity at a supportive and ambitious secondary school in Bristol. This salaried role allows you to begin your teaching career as a Phase One trainee, gaining hands-on classroom and practical teaching experience while studying towards a Level 4 qualification, with a clear pathway to Phase Two, PGCE and QTS.

As a Grad2Teach trainee, you will support teaching and learning across Girls’ PE, helping to deliver an engaging curriculum that encourages participation, confidence and achievement. You will assist with lesson delivery, assessment and organisation, and contribute to extra-curricular clubs and fixtures that form a vibrant part of school life.
This role is ideal for a graduate who wants to earn while they train, make a meaningful contribution from day one, and develop into an outstanding Girls’ PE teacher in a supportive environment.
About You – Candidate Profile
You may be a recent graduate, sports coach or aspiring teacher with a passion for PE and youth development. We are looking for someone who:
• Is a motivated aspiring Girls’ PE teacher / graduate trainee
• Has a strong interest or degree in Sport, PE, Sports Science or a related field
• Is energetic, confident and enthusiastic about working with young people
• Is reflective, resilient and eager to develop excellent teaching practice
• Can build positive relationships and motivate students to participate and achieve
• Is committed to teamwork, inclusion and whole-school values
• Wants to grow through structured mentoring and high-quality training
Training & Progression with Grad2Teach
This role follows Grad2Teach’s fully salaried, two-phase teacher training model:
Phase One – Level 4 & Foundational Training
• Complete a Level 4 NCFE customised qualification while working in school
• Training aligned to the Core Content Framework (CCF) and Teachers’ Standards
• Learn through guided practice, observations, professional learning sessions and in-school experience
Phase Two – PGCE & QTS (Coventry University)
Subject to successful progression, Phase Two includes:
• Increased independent teaching responsibility (up to 18 hours per week)
• Completion of a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University (NITE)
• Ongoing mentoring, assessment and development towards meeting all Teachers’ Standards
This structured pathway ensures you gain the confidence, skills and accreditation needed to begin your career as a fully qualified Girls’ PE teacher.
