About the Role
In this graduate teaching role, you will support the delivery of Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential exposure to Key Stage 5. You will work alongside a strong Humanities department, gaining valuable classroom experience while earning a salary and completing Grad2Teach’s Level 4 qualification.
As a trainee teacher, you will:
- Support Geography lessons covering physical and human geography
- Assist with lesson planning, marking, and assessment
- Deliver small group interventions to support pupil progress
- Encourage curiosity about global issues, environments, and sustainability
- Develop classroom confidence within a structured salaried teacher training pathway
This role in Buckinghamshire offers a clear pathway into Phase Two and a PGCE route, leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
About You / Candidate Profile
We are seeking a passionate aspiring teacher, trainee educator, or future Geography teacher who is eager to inspire the next generation.
You will:
- Hold (or be working toward) a degree in Geography or a related subject
- Have a strong interest in environmental issues, global development, or sustainability
- Be enthusiastic, reliable, and ready to learn in a school setting
- Communicate clearly and engage effectively with secondary-aged students
- Be committed to progressing through a structured teacher training programme
Experience in tutoring, fieldwork, or working with young people is beneficial but not essential.
Training & Progression
- Completion of Phase One, achieving a Level 4 qualification with Grad2Teach
- Training aligned with the Core Content Framework (CCF) and national Teaching Standards
- Structured mentoring, lesson observations, and ongoing professional development
- Progression into Phase Two, with increasing responsibility and independent teaching
- Opportunity to complete a PGCE with Coventry University, leading to QTS
