Join a supportive independent school in Broadbridge Heath as a Grad2Teach English Trainee Teacher — a salaried position designed to help you train, earn, and qualify while gaining invaluable in-school experience.
In this role, you’ll support and deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages, helping pupils to develop a love of language and literature. You’ll work closely with experienced teachers, plan and evaluate lessons, and contribute meaningfully to school life.
As part of the Grad2Teach two-phase teacher training programme, you’ll be employed from day one, completing a Level 4 NCFE qualification in Phase One before progressing to a PGCE with QTS in Phase Two, delivered in partnership with Coventry University.
About You
We’re seeking an experienced and capable English trainee who:
-
Has a degree (ideally in English or a related subject)
-
Has prior classroom or educational experience — for example, as a cover supervisor, teaching assistant, or unqualified teacher
-
Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for English literature and language
-
Is reflective, motivated, and committed to developing as a teacher
-
Is eager to follow a salaried, school-based route into teaching through Grad2Teach
You’ll thrive in a structured, nurturing environment that values professional growth and encourages independent teaching as your confidence builds.
Training & Progression

Once ready, you’ll transition into Phase Two — completing your PGCE with QTS through Coventry University, supported by Grad2Teach mentors, training coordinators, and school-based mentors.
Your training will take place outside of teaching hours, ensuring you can focus on developing strong teaching practice while remaining salaried
