About the Role
You will join a supportive and high-achieving secondary school in Chingford, East London, working alongside experienced educators to support the delivery of engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. As a graduate trainee teacher, you’ll gradually build confidence in planning, teaching, and assessing students.
This graduate teaching role is part of the Grad2Teach salaried teacher training programme, allowing you to earn while you train and develop into a qualified teacher through a structured pathway.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the teaching of English Language and Literature in a secondary classroom
- Assisting with lesson preparation, marking, and student support
- Gradually taking on teaching responsibilities as your confidence grows
- Building classroom management skills in a real school environment
- Supporting students of varying abilities to achieve their full potential
About You
We are looking for a motivated and committed aspiring teacher who is ready to begin their journey into education.
You may be:
- A graduate trainee with a degree in English or a related subject
- A future teacher with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A trainee educator passionate about literature, language, and learning
- Someone with experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
- Reliable, proactive, and eager to develop professionally

Training & Progression
Through Grad2Teach, you will follow a structured training pathway designed to support your development into a fully qualified teacher:
- Phase One:
- Work towards a Level 4 qualification in education and training
- Gain practical classroom experience in a secondary school in East London
- Receive mentoring aligned with the Core Content Framework (CCF) and Teaching Standards
- Phase Two:
- Progress to increased teaching responsibility
- Work towards a PGCE with Coventry University
- Move towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
