The Role & Training Programme

As a Trainee Computer Science Teacher, you’ll join the Grad2Teach salaried Initial Teacher Training programme, a two-phase experience-led pathway designed for aspiring teachers:

  • Phase 1: Gain hands-on classroom experience with reduced teaching commitments and weekly blended learning sessions based on the Teaching Standards and the Core Content Framework.

  • Phase 2: Take full ownership of your teaching timetable (up to 18 hours/week) while completing your PGCE with QTS through Coventry University.

  • Throughout both phases, you’ll receive:

Trainee Requirements

To apply for this teacher training route, you must:

  • Hold a full undergraduate degree (final-year students can also be considered)

  • Demonstrate strong communication, resilience, and a passion for teaching

  • Be committed to completing the full programme and pursuing QTS

  • GCSE Maths and English are desirable but not essential at this stage; support will be provided during Phase 1 if needed
