Grad2Teach is offering an exciting Graduate Trainee Teacher – Early Years (Primary) opportunity at a welcoming and supportive primary school in North London. This salaried role allows you to begin your teaching career as a Phase One trainee, gaining hands-on classroom experience in Nursery and Reception while studying towards a Level 4 qualification, with a clear pathway to Phase Two, PGCE and QTS.

As a Grad2Teach trainee, you will support teaching and learning across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), helping children develop key skills in communication, literacy, numeracy and personal development. You will work closely with experienced teachers and practitioners, contribute to planning and assessment, and help create a safe, stimulating and joyful learning environment.
This role is ideal for a graduate who wants to earn while they train, make a meaningful impact from day one, and develop into an outstanding Early Years teacher.
About You – Candidate Profile
You may be a recent graduate, teaching assistant, nursery practitioner or aspiring educator with a passion for Early Years education. We are looking for someone who:
- Holds an Early Years qualification (Level 1 or 2). This would be a great advantage.
- Is a motivated aspiring Primary Teacher with a focus on Early Years
- Has a strong interest or degree in Education, Childhood Studies, Psychology or a related field
- Is caring, patient and enthusiastic about supporting young children’s development
- Is reflective, resilient and eager to develop excellent classroom practice
- Can build warm, positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Is committed to inclusive education and high expectations for all learners
- Wants to grow through structured mentoring and high-quality training
Training & Progression with Grad2Teach
This role follows Grad2Teach’s fully salaried, two-phase teacher training model:
Phase One – Level 4 & Foundational Training
• Complete a Level 4 NCFE customised qualification while working in school
• Training aligned to the Core Content Framework (CCF) and Teachers’ Standards
• Learn through guided practice, observations, professional learning sessions and in-school experience
Phase Two – PGCE & QTS (Coventry University)
Subject to successful progression, Phase Two includes:
• Increased teaching responsibility within the primary setting
• Completion of a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University (NITE)
• Ongoing mentoring, assessment and development to meet all Teachers’ Standards
This structured pathway ensures you gain the confidence, experience and qualifications needed to begin your career as a fully qualified Primary Teacher specialising in Early Years.
