Graduate Trainee Geography Teacher

As a graduate trainee, you’ll gain hands-on classroom experience supporting geography lessons while working towards a Level 4 qualification. This structured route allows you to earn while you train, building your confidence and teaching skills in a supportive environment before progressing to Phase Two, where you’ll complete a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University.

Training & Progression

Through the Grad2Teach two-phase model, you’ll follow a structured, school-based pathway to qualification:

Phase One

• Paid, in-school experience supporting teaching and learning

• Completion of a Level 4 NCFE Customised Qualification focused on classroom practice and pedagogy

• Development mapped to the Core Content Framework (CCF) and Teachers’ Standards

Phase Two

• Transition into full teaching responsibility

• Complete a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University

• Supported by mentors, observations, and reflective practice sessions
