About the Role
Are you a graduate or aspiring educator ready to begin your teaching journey? Join a supportive secondary school in Suffolk as a Cover Supervisor, gaining invaluable classroom experience while you train to teach with Grad2Teach.
This full-time, salaried role offers the perfect stepping stone into teaching. You’ll supervise lessons, support pupils’ learning, and develop essential classroom management skills — all while building your readiness for Phase One of the Grad2Teach salaried teacher training programme.
With Grad2Teach, you’ll be supported every step of the way on your journey to becoming a fully qualified teacher. You’ll gain hands-on experience in school, guided by mentors and the Grad2Teach training team, while earning a salary from day one.
About You
We’re looking for enthusiastic graduates or career changers who are:
-
Passionate about education and eager to inspire young people
-
Reliable, confident, and ready to take initiative in the classroom
-
Interested in progressing into a salaried teacher training route leading to QTS
-
Committed to developing the skills and mindset of a professional educator
Experience working with young people (for example, in tutoring, mentoring, or classroom support) is advantageous but not essential — comprehensive support and training will be provided.
Training & Progression
Through the Grad2Teach salaried teacher training programme, you’ll follow a structured, two-phase route:
Phase One – Level 4 Qualification:
Build your confidence in the classroom while completing an NCFE Level 4 Customised Qualification focused on the Core Content Framework (CCF) and Teachers’ Standards. This phase combines in-school experience with professional reflection and targeted development.
Phase Two – PGCE with QTS:
Progress into independent teaching while completing your PGCE with Coventry University’s National Institute of Teaching and Education (NITE). You’ll receive ongoing mentoring, structured training, and academic support as you work toward Qualified Teacher Status.
