About Profile

One of the key influences behind the candidate’s decision to pursue a career in teaching was a head teacher at the school where they began working at the age of 18. This head teacher served as a compassionate and supportive role model, demonstrating the impact that strong leadership and empathy can have in an educational setting. That early experience left a lasting impression and helped shape their professional values.

The candidate’s passion for working with young people began at age 15 during a work placement as an assistant PE teacher. Although initially a surreal experience, the opportunity to support students’ learning and wellbeing inspired a strong commitment to teaching. This early exposure confirmed their desire to pursue a career in education.

With a degree in a sports-related field and personal experience in sports, the candidate has a solid foundation in Physical Education. They studied modules such as sports performance, nutrition, skill acquisition through games, and sports psychology. These academic experiences, combined with a continuous effort to stay updated through research and peer consultation, have prepared them well for delivering the PE curriculum, including at GCSE and A-level.

Throughout their degree, they developed key transferable skills in communication, organisation, and creativity—through presentations, practical leadership, and time management across multiple assignments. Additionally, their experience as a teaching assistant has strengthened their leadership, adaptability, commitment, and patience, including confidently stepping in to lead classes when required.
