Trainee Teacher in SEND - HLTA role

An inclusive and well-regarded special school in Buckinghamshire is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join its dedicated team. As a HLTA, you’ll play a vital role in supporting pupils across a broad spectrum of educational and behavioural needs, working closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff.

The Role:

• Deliver planned lessons and interventions across a range of subjects and age groups

• Support individual and small-group learning in line with pupils' EHCPs

• Work in partnership with teachers to adapt learning materials and manage classroom behaviour positively

• Use creative, flexible approaches to engage children with a range of learning styles and abilities

• Contribute to the wider life of the school and build trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and staff

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

• Has an undergraduate degree

• Has GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) in English and Mathematics

• Demonstrates experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) - desirable

• Has a positive, resilient attitude and a genuine commitment to inclusive education

• Can communicate effectively and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
