About the Role
This Trainee SEND Teacher opportunity provides a structured and supportive route into education through Grad2Teach’s salaried teacher training programme. Based within a nurturing primary school in Woolwich, Greater London, you will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
As a Phase One Trainee Teacher, you will:
- Support pupils with SEND across the primary age range
- Assist with differentiated classroom activities and interventions
- Help create an inclusive and engaging learning environment
- Work closely with teachers, SEND coordinators, and pastoral teams
- Build confidence through practical classroom experience
- Develop behaviour management and communication strategies
- Gain hands-on experience within a graduate teaching role

About You
We are looking for a motivated graduate trainee, trainee teacher, or future SEND specialist who is enthusiastic, caring, and ready to begin a rewarding career in education.

- A degree or relevant experience supporting children or young people
- A strong interest in SEND and inclusive teaching practices

Previous experience in SEND support, teaching assistant work, mentoring, youth work, tutoring, coaching, or care settings would be essential.
Training & Progression

During Phase One, you will:
- Complete the Grad2Teach Level 4 qualification
- Develop teaching practice aligned with the Core Content Framework (CCF)
- Build evidence towards the Teachers’ Standards
- Receive mentoring and instructional coaching from experienced educators
- Gain practical classroom experience in Woolwich, South East London
Successful trainees can progress into Phase Two, where you will move towards independent teaching responsibilities and complete your PGCE with Coventry University.
