About the Role
This Trainee SEN Teacher role offers hands-on experience within a supportive specialist education setting in Surrey.
As part of Grad2Teach’s salaried teacher training programme, you will work alongside experienced SEN educators and pastoral teams to support pupils with a range of learning differences, communication needs, and social-emotional development needs.
This graduate teaching role is designed to help aspiring teachers develop practical classroom skills while building towards independent teaching responsibilities and a future PGCE route.
As a trainee educator, you will:
- Support teaching and learning across SEN classrooms
- Deliver personalised learning support and interventions
- Assist with behaviour management and pupil wellbeing
- Develop inclusive teaching strategies and communication approaches
- Gain classroom experience aligned with the Teachers’ Standards and Core Content Framework (CCF)
- Work collaboratively with experienced teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Progress towards increased classroom leadership during Phase Two

About You

Training & Progression
Grad2Teach provides a structured salaried teacher training pathway designed to support future educators into long-term teaching careers.
During Phase One, you will:
- Complete the Level 4 qualification in education and teaching
- Develop teaching practice aligned with the Core Content Framework (CCF)
- Build evidence towards the Teachers’ Standards
- Receive regular instructional coaching, mentoring, and classroom support
Successful trainees can progress into Phase Two, where they move into greater independent teaching responsibilities while working towards a PGCE with Coventry University.
