About the Role
Are you a graduate, aspiring teacher, or experienced support professional looking to begin a rewarding career in primary education?
A welcoming and supportive primary school in Suffolk is seeking a Trainee Primary Teacher to join its team through the Grad2Teach salaried teacher training programme. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical classroom experience while working towards becoming a fully qualified teacher.
Through Grad2Teach's structured two-phase programme, you will earn a salary, develop your teaching skills, and progress towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE.
About the Role
As a Trainee Primary Teacher, you will work closely with experienced teachers across the primary age range, supporting pupils' learning and development while gradually building your own teaching responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
- Delivering small-group and whole-class learning activities
- Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
- Supporting pupil progress and wellbeing
- Developing classroom management and behaviour strategies
- Building confidence towards independent teaching
This salaried teacher training opportunity provides valuable hands-on experience while allowing you to learn within a real school environment.

- A graduate or aspiring teacher seeking a school-based route into teaching
- Passionate about primary education and child development
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to learn
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Committed to developing their professional practice
- Interested in gaining recognised teaching qualifications whilst working
Applications are welcomed from graduates, career changers, HLTAs, teaching assistants, cover supervisors, and other education professionals looking to progress into teaching.
Training & Progression
Grad2Teach offers a structured, salaried pathway into teaching, combining practical school experience with professional development. Your training will be aligned to:
- The Teachers' Standards
- The Core Content Framework (CCF)
- Professional reflection and evidence-based practice
During this phase, you will gain extensive classroom experience without the pressure of a full teaching timetable.
Successful trainees can then progress to Phase Two, where they take on increased teaching responsibility while completing a PGCE with Coventry University and achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
