About the Role

A welcoming and community-focused primary school in North Norfolk is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Primary Teacher to join its supportive team through the Grad2Teach salaried teacher training programme.

This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate, aspiring teacher, or experienced support staff member looking to begin a rewarding career in education while earning and training at the same time.

Through Grad2Teach, you will gain practical classroom experience, complete a structured Level 4 qualification, and progress towards achieving PGCE with QTS through Coventry University.

About the Role

As a Trainee Primary Teacher, you will work closely with experienced teachers across the primary age range, supporting pupils’ learning and development while building your own teaching practice.

This salaried teacher training role in North Norfolk offers a gradual and supportive route into teaching, allowing you to develop confidence in the classroom before moving into independent teaching responsibilities.

You will:

  • Support teaching and learning across the primary curriculum
  • Assist with lesson preparation, classroom activities, and pupil progress
  • Develop behaviour management and classroom leadership skills
  • Gain hands-on experience in a real school environment
  • Complete a structured Level 4 training programme alongside your school placement
  • Progress towards Phase Two teacher training and PGCE with QTS

Grad2Teach’s programme combines practical school experience with professional training aligned to the Teaching Standards and Core Content Framework (CCF).

About You

We are looking for a passionate and committed future teacher who is eager to make a positive difference in children’s lives.

You may be:

  • A graduate considering a career in teaching
  • A teaching assistant or support staff member ready for progression
  • A career changer seeking a meaningful profession
  • An aspiring primary educator looking for a salaried route into teaching

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A genuine interest in primary education
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and reliability
  • A willingness to learn and develop professionally
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children and staff

A degree is preferred, though Grad2Teach offers flexible pathways and support for candidates working towards eligibility requirements.

Training & Progression

Grad2Teach provides a structured two-phase salaried teacher training programme designed to develop confident, capable educators.

Phase One

During Phase One, you will:

  • Complete an NCFE Level 4 qualification
  • Receive school-based training and mentoring
  • Develop your understanding of safeguarding, lesson planning, assessment, behaviour management, and inclusive practice
  • Build evidence towards the Teachers’ Standards
  • Gain valuable classroom experience without the pressure of a full teaching timetable

Phase Two

Once ready, you will progress into Phase Two, where you will:

  • Teach more independently
  • Complete a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University
  • Continue receiving mentoring and professional support
  • Develop towards becoming a fully qualified teacher

This flexible and supportive pathway allows trainees to grow in confidence while remaining fully immersed in school life.
